I know this can sound a bit cliché, but have you ever applied it to your own life’s journey? How you courageously showed up focused and willing to do what others don’t or won’t?
I rise early to beat the heat of the Arizona summer days, and I walk this blocked-from-access fire road as a part of my daily exercise routine. One day, just to shake it up I decided to walk back up this “road less traveled”, BACKWARDS! Who knew this random switch-up would make such an impact. I quickly began to recognize how it made me slowdown in making each step a well thought out move. It’s made me more conscious about my physical posture and the alignment of my hips and spine. It became a whole new coordination of muscles I didn’t even know I had. I became very attentive in scoping out what might be ahead or behind me. Other walkers, rocks on the roadway, snakes or bobcats, you know the little things! But I believe the biggest impact is how I continuously glace to my left to see where I am at. I know the landscape and know that there are two scrub trees on the side of the road near the top where I stop. Even when I try not to, unconsciously I continue to glance over my left shoulder looking for reassurance. I already know when to stop because I can feel the roadway flatten in my stride. Yet, I still feel the need for an outwardly sign, in contrast to that intuitive guide found from within. In my book Breathe, Just Breathe, we venture into a better understanding of our intuitive self ‘s and that special God Voice from deep within. All too often we rely on things outside of ourselves for guidance. Maybe this is the perfect season for you to become more curious and focused with a willingness to lean into and trust your intuitive self, and deep guidance from within?
That unfamiliar path that you dare to venture onto may just become one of your life’s most transforming stories of A Road Less Traveled. Imagine!
